SUNY Chancellor Esports Challenge powered by Extreme Networks
    Starting April 27

SUNY Erie is looking for students with a love and talent for esports to participate in the first ever SUNY Chancellor Esports Challenge powered by Extreme Networks. Both Chancellor Johnson and Extreme Networks has committed $10,000 each with a total of $20,000 in prizes available to win. Prize money will be donated to schools’ Student Emergency Fund. Other prizes will be available, as well.

The tournament will be played in three different games: Rocket League (3v3), Fortnite (2v2) and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (1v1). Students may participate in more than one game/be a part of more than one team. SUNY Erie will have two teams per game.

The tournament consists of two stages. The Round Robin Group Stage will be played from April 27-May 1. Performance in this stage determines seeding for stage 2, the Elimination Bracket. Elimination Bracket is single loss elimination. Stage 2 will be played from May 4-May 15.

The challenge is open to all SUNY Erie students in good academic standing and at least a 2.0 GPA. Students can choose to be either a captain or player as defined by the SUNY Esports Chancellor Challenge Official Rulebook on page 2. Players will also be responsible for the integrity of their own equipment, included but not limited to, video game consoles, PCs, and internet connections. Players are also responsible for following all rules and settings of the game as determined in the SUNY Esports Chancellor Challenge Official Rulebook.

Students who wish to take part should complete the following steps:
    1.   Read the Rulebook & Esports Registration Guide
    2.   Send name, ID#, email address along with the game you wish to partake in to Jordan Reiner at reinerj@ecc.edu
    3.   If you wish to be Team Captain, please specify in email

Registration will be done on a first come, first served basis. Once the participation limit is reached, additional students will be placed on a backup list in case of no shows. Deadline to register is this Thursday, April 23 at 5 p.m.
