HEATING, VENTILATING, AC AND REFRIGERATION TECHNOLOGY
Program Description
Air conditioning is the control of all or many of the conditions which affect the physical and chemical characteristics of the atmosphere within a structure. The conditions subject to control are temperature, humidity, motion, distribution, pressure, dust, bacteria and odors.
The Heating, Ventilating, AC and Refrigeration Technology program meets the requirements of the rapidly expanding field of air conditioning. Present day interpretation of that term includes design for year-round living comfort.
Actual problems are used as a basis for class discussions. Ideas are exchanged in order to enrich the experience of those already employed, and to give a broader background to those interested in entering this field. Graduates qualify for upgrading in their jobs or for employment in the air conditioning field.
Students may follow a certificate program, or they may select individual courses provided that they have completed the course prerequisites.
